Le présent volume constitue le troisième supplément du fonds général (réalisé depuis 1986). Il n'y a pas de manuscrits cotés de Z 1 à Z 319 : ils ont été recotés dans le fonds général Ms 1876 à Ms 3004.

 

L'accès aux collections patrimoniales est soumis à une autorisation préalable. Toute publication de documents inédits doit être notifiée à l'établissement.

Histoire de la conservation

Acquis en vente publique à Londres en 1992, ces dix volumes de correspondance du cardinal de Granvelle étaient conservés en Angleterre depuis le XIXe siècle (manuscrits Trumbull). Ils proviennent de la bibliothèque d'un ordre religieux parisien (jésuite) d'où ils ont été soustraits à la fin du XVIIIe siècle.
